Polar Bear Express

On Friday night we took Jacob to the Polar Bear Express. He was looking forward to it all day. We had a great time. First, we listened to the Polar Express story. Then we got on the train and went to the "North Pole" (well, not really, Noblesville)to pick up Santa, Mrs. Claus and a Polar Bear. This was Jacob's first time talking to Santa and it went great. He even let us snap a picture of him with Santa.

Christmas Pictures

It is that time of year again. Time to get the Christmas cards out. We decided that we would take our own pictures this year to see if we could get a good shot of the kids. Here is a little sample of what happened. Every time I tried to snap the picture Avrey would try to run away. And when I finally got her to sit still, this would happen. It was funny.

Avrey and Jacob loved decorating the tree. We decided to use green and red this year. The ornaments are all glittery so they catch their little eyes. Avrey loves to touch them and try to take them off the tree. This is her enjoying the ornaments.

Avrey's Accomplishments

Avrey has been learning all sorts of new things recently. She amazes me everyday. If you ask her what a monkey says she says "ah ah ah", it is so cute. She can also make a cow sound, and a cat. I will have to try to catch her on video sometime. She is such a climber. I caught on the chair in our living room the other day. She loves her big brother Jacob even though sometimes he is too rough with her. It is crazy how much she learns just from watching him.Her new thing now is that she wants to feed herself with a spoon which most of you know how messy that can get. I took some pics of her today and she actually made most of it in her mouth. I can't believe it! She still loses some of it on her bib and her face is pretty messy but it is too cute.

Halloween 2008

Halloween was fun this year. Every year we have Jake, Katie, Evan Zach over for trick-or-treating. But this year Lisa, Chad, Debbie and Ken came over as well. The kids all seemed to have fun and they all got lots of candy. Obviously Avrey had no idea what was going on. It was cute to see her walk around in her little fairy costume though. I think she got a little candy, but her favorite was the teddy grahams. Probably because that is the only package she recognized. Jacob actually dressed up this year. Last year he would not put his costume on for anything. This year he was an train engineer. Go figure! All the kids looked great! Katie had a great idea and made Evan a birthday present. How creative! Zach was a race car driver and Chad was a little monkey. All very cute. Unfortunately I do not have pictures of everybody. But here are the few I have. I included one from last year of Jacob and Evan. I can't believe how much they have grown.

My little Artist

Jacob started drawing trains sometime in the summer. He has perfected them since. He also drew me a picture the other day of smiley faces, his second favorite thing to draw. I finally got a picture of his masterpiece. From left to right- Josh, Avrey, Jacob and do you see the little circle in the right corner? He says that is me because "I got small" I wonder what that is suppose to mean. I am pretty sure that I am about the same size I have always been. Funny boy:) Do you like Josh's arms and legs?

Avrey's First Birthday Party!

Avrey is one! Well, technically not until the 22nd but we already had her party. She was not sure what was going on but she seem to enjoy it. Opening presents was a little crazy because Jacob was helping and he would get one opened up and then move on quickly. Especially if it was clothes. It was cute. Best of all Avrey had her own cupcake which she loved! She was such lady with the cupcake. Making sure not to make too much of a mess of herself as you will notice in the last picture. Just a little bit on her face. Happy Birthday Avrey!

Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to Stoney Creek Pumpkin Patch. We took Jacob last year and decided that we wanted to make it a family tradition to go every year. We took a short hayride out to the pumpkin patch and then the fun began. We couldn't believe all the pumpkins this year. We don't remember seeing so many last year. Avrey loved the pumpkins! She would point to them and smack them. Jacob was excited to see all of the pumpkins. He was running around looking at all of them. We all had a great time!
